California law states that all riders under the age of 18 shall have a safety certificate in their possession while riding ATV’s on public land, but I don’t have a Safety Certificate what can I do?
- Good news is that California does recognize other states safety certificates – and our neighbor Oregon offers an on-line course and upon a successful completion you can print your temporary certificate that is good for 30 days (until your permanent certificate is mailed to you.) Take the class by yourself or gather up the family and spend time together taking this informational course together. It only takes two hours: On-line Safety Certificate
- Another option is to call and schedule an ATV Rider Course (hands-on training class) near you. For locations or registering on line go to ATV Safety Institute or call toll free (800) 887-2887
- If you don’t have enough time to comply with options one or two the third options – We can provide our Guests with riders who do have their certificate (of course there may be a nominal fee for this rider.)
So either take the course offered through Ride ATV Oregon by yourself, gather up the family and take it together or take the kids to a hands on class at the ATV Safety Institute, or let us provide a rider with certificate for you. Your choice!
